Cornhuskers in AP poll for 300th straight week

Nebraska reached another milestone in The Associated Press Top 25 college football poll.

The third-ranked Cornhuskers (6-0), who didn't play Saturday, extended their record consecutive appearance streak in the AP poll to 300 weeks. The last time the Huskers were unranked was Oct. 5, 1981.

Florida State has the second-longest current streak at 174 weeks.

Nebraska's nation-leading streak of consecutive weeks in the AP Top 10 ended at 96 with a loss to Texas, Saturday's opponent at 2:30 p.m., last year. Nebraska has been ranked in the Top 10 104 of the last 110 weeks, dating back to the 1993 preseason poll.

The Huskers have been in 473 of the last 476 AP polls since 1969. They missed only one week in 1977 and two in 1981.
